This is a
Permanent, Full Time position of which includes a comprehensive benefit
plan, as well as a benefit pension plan. This position is stationed out of
our Public Works Maintenance Shop located in the Town of Athabasca.
Definite assets would be experience in maintaining and operating a motor
grader for summer and winter maintenance of gravel roadways, having
knowledge of the area, the ability to work independently and preferably a
Class 1 or 3 License. The wage ranges from $22.77 to $25.40 per hour based
on qualifications and years of experience.

COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR
Do you
enjoy living in Athabasca Country and love to talk to people? Are you
outgoing, organized, a great communicator and people orientated? Then
Athabasca Country Tourism is looking for you!
ACT is
currently seeking one Community Ambassadors to work in the Athabasca Country
Visitor Information Center this summer. Being the primary contact for the
many tourists that visit our region, you will be informing them about the
rich history, multiple services and attractions in and around the Athabasca
Region and Northern Alberta. In addition to providing free tourism guides
and information, you will responsible for retailing a variety of items like
maps and local hand-made products.
You must be
organized, able to work independently and have the enthusiasm to learn and
share your knowledge about the region and its history. Since tourism occurs
24/7, you must be willing to work weekends, when scheduled.
This is an
excellent position for students returning to post secondary school as you
will gain valuable knowledge on working with the public and will enhance
your communication skills.
