Grassland

Grassland ?  Where are we?

Grassland is located on Hwy. 63 between Edmonton and Ft. Mc Murray in the County of Athabasca .  A great place for the outdoor enthusiast we are surrounded by provincial parks, and local camping areas.  Such as Buck Lake Provincial Park (30 km), Buck Lake Narrows Campground (19km), Charron Lake Campground (7km), Poacher’s Landing (25km), Winston Churchill Provincial Park (60km), and many more places to play, swim  hunt and fish .  Also a great location for commuting to Alberta Pacific Pulp Mill only 15 minutes away.  For young families a great Kindergarten to Grade 12 school, which plays an important role in our community,  including housing of our public library.  For older students we are only 30 minutes to Lac La Biche Portage College.  We have many clubs and organizations to keep you busy.

Atmore, Alberta

Want more-discover life in Atmore.  Located on the shores of Charron Lake a small but dynamic hamlet.  A great place to live for those who enjoy the great outdoors.  But for those who like their convenience close we boast of our general store with postal service and liquor store.   We have a church to marry you in and a community hall for the dance..  Another great thing about our town we are a short bus ride to Grassland School.   We also have several home based businesses near by town to help make life easier. Every year on the first Saturday in May we host a Heart Fund Ride.  It’s a great cause and loads of fun to participate in.  Please, drop by and join us for this great horseback ride.

Prosvita, Alberta

Although we have only a community hall and church we have a claim to Fame!  We host the greatest slow-pitch tournament every June.   It features great ball and a lot of fun.  We plan to stick around for a while longer having celebrated our 50th anniversary in 1997.  We are now easier to find than any time in our history, thanks to our neighbor Alberta Pacific Pulp Mill.  Come see us in June and play ball!
