Parks & Recreation

The County Recreation Board is responsible for the operation and maintenance of County Campgrounds, Day Use Sites, Boat Launches, and Municipal Recreation Reserves.

The Board administers a variety of grant programs offered by the County of Athabasca to residents and Community Organizations, and assists with accessing other funding opportunities.

The programming side of the Recreation Department coordinates Summer Programs, Special Events and facilitates opportunities for rural residents to access centralized recreational activities like swimming and curling.
