Water & Sewer Systems
Municipal Water & Sewer
The County of Athabasca provides water and sewer service to the hamlets of Colinton, Grassland, and Wandering River. The County also provides sewer collection service in the Hamlet of Rochester.
Rural Tank-Loader Water Dispensing Systems
Funding provided through Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA) under the National Water Supply Expansion program has enabled the county to plan and develop a rural water supply network across the County.
Tank loading facilities are operational in the Grassland area, Rochester and the Richmond Park area with development planned for the Baptiste Lake and Boyle area later this year. The tank loading facilities will provide water at minimal cost for agricultural use.
The water systems provide untreated non-potable water which is supplied from an individual well for each facility.
The current cost is 200 imperial gallons (+/- 908 litres) for $1.00. Each system is self-serve and accepts $1 and $2 coins.
