Athabasca County Council meetings take place on the second Tuesday and last Thursday of every month. They begin at 9:30 am and continue until all business slated for the meeting has concluded.
Second Tuesday: this is the only meeting of the month where full agenda will be presented including all business arising, all new business and all reports from the County
Manager. This will generally be considered as the primary Council Meeting each month.
Last Thursday: this meeting is the only monthly meeting at which Council will receive unsolicited delegations. Reports from standing committees and associated boards will also be presented at this meeting.
The Public Works Committee meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 A.M. It consists of all members of Council and to the greatest extent possible, keeps its business to the Public Works functions of the County. The meeting continues until all business slated for the meeting has concluded.
Agricultural Services Board
This Committee of Council meets on the last Wednesday of every month beginning at 9:30 am. All members of County Council are present on the board. The meeting includes information about Protective Services in the County. The meeting continues until all business slated for the meeting has concluded.
Municipal Planning Commission
The Municipal Planning Commission meets on the last Tuesday of each month beginning at 9:30 am. All members of County Council are present on the board. The meeting continues until all business slated for the meeting has concluded.
The Airport Committee is comprised of three members of Council and two Members at Large. The committee meets irregularly based on the operational needs of the airport. The purpose of the committee is to oversee the use, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Athabasca Regional Airport. It is comprised of three members of Council, two members at large who are residents in the County, and the County Manager.
